Week 11
This week, I learned about how to use social media to improve search engine optimization (SEO) and to boost my business in general. As far as SEO and social media, I learned that the more people talk about a business, the more credit Google gives them. One way to help us in using social media for SEO is to use hashtags that related to the content/products and ones that our target audience is searching for. Another thing to do is make sharing your content and website on social media an easy thing for your customers/readers to do, because it will hopefully generate a larger following. Using social media is a great way to boost SEO.
To create a good plan for using social media to boost your
business, there are several things I learned to do this week. First, create SMART
goals. Second, identify your target audience and which social media platforms they
use. Third, diversify your content; give your followers something to read, look
at, watch, and/or listen to (https://www.socialmediatoday.com/marketing/5-steps-creating-successful-social-media-strategy-2017).
Right now, I mostly have content to read, so I am planning ways I can change up
my content, including using YouTube to share videos and creating images with something
like Canva to share on Facebook and Instagram. I also plan on creating surveys
to share that will engage my followers more. Lastly, plan some short-term and
long-term goals and re-evaluate them at certain intervals. These are some
things to keep in mind as you make a social media plan for your business.
