Week 1

 I have already learned many things since deciding to take this course. I am not a business major, so several things surprised me. I realize now that there is a lot that goes into starting a new business, even an online one. I did not know much about business models. I learned that there are many business models and the internet makes it possible to combine models for more flexibility and, hopefully, a greater profit.

As I pondered on ideas for a business, I felt inspired about business idea and knew it was personal revelation from Heavenly Father. However, I did not know how many factors go into deciding on a business idea. I have learned that I have to think about more than just my idea of how my business could benefit people. I have to think about start-up costs, weekly time necessary to keep my business going, and many other things.

I am grateful for technology and the internet. The internet gives us so may opportunities, both business related and others. Through the internet, I can find a way to make money doing something I love. I can also make money from home, which is my preference for a job.

I am excited to continue learning more about starting a web business to bless the lives of my customers.

 This week, I started running my Google Ads campaign. So far, I have not had any impressions on my ads or keywords. Hopefully, the changes I made from what I learned this week will improve my ads, and subsequently, the impressions they get. Week 7

This week, I learned more about ads and Google Ads. I worked on improving my ad and started creating more ads. Google Ads is not a very intuitive program. If you are working with Google Ads, look on Google and Youtube for how to use it. I learned several tips about writing ads this week. First, think like your customers. Write in a way that will engage them. Second, it is good to include action words, so your viewers know exactly what they can do next. Third, your ad should talk about what they will see when the click on it and not just send them to your home page. Fourth, make them somewhat personal and interesting. Another thing I started learning about is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Basically, you include keywords you put into Google Ads on specific pages of your website, so that when someone searches for those words, your webpage comes up high in the search results without you having to pay for an ad.
